For those that enjoy Japanese Animation and culture, the 22nd Annual Animethon happened this past weekend. With a previous attendance reaching over 8700+, this year promised to be bigger and better.
Another family friendly Edmonton Festival, there was something for everyone. A vendor hall for your fan-boy desires, an Artist Alley where new artists can show off their talents, workshops and panels, games and screening rooms to keep one entertained, an opportunity to meet the actor behind your favorite characters … a rock concert, a symphony, and an all ages dance party.
One of the most popular events is the Cosplay Contest. People spend months/years to make and re-create their favorite characters. Every year, the costumes become increasingly impressive and creative… everyone has a camera. Animethon is a unique festival where people can come, meet and share their passions with like-minded individuals. Everyone always leaves with fond memories and new friends.
